President Karzai offers talks to the Taliban

Once again President Karzai has showed interest to engage in dialog with the Taliban to end the six years of bloodshed.

He made this offer to Taliban on Monday and requested Pakistan to help establish contact the Taliban leadership. It is heartening that the Taliban have positively responded to this offer. The spokesman said that they were ready to talk in the ‘national interest’.

President Karzai has been under pressure to start negotiation with the Taliban since may, after Afghan senate passed resolution calling for ceasefire. They were of the opinion that fighting had failed to bring any results.

I hope this dialog could lead to peace, because Afghan people have been suffering for 27 years. They need peace and tranquility .

Pakistan : Opposition and PML-N workers should stop criticizing Saudi Arabia

Opposition and PML-N workers are angry and lambasting Saudi Arabia for its alleged role in Nawaz Sharif’s deportation.

However , Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Auwaz Eseri denied is country’s involvement. He said that Nawaz was deported on the basis of the eight years old agreement.

Opposition staged a protest at the Press Club of Islambad and criticized Saudi Arabia for supporting a dictator. Later , they boycotted the function of Saudi Arabia’s national day.

I urge the opposition and PML- workers to stop criticizing a trusted and friendly country like Saudi Arabia.
It was their coward leader who involved Saudi Arabia to avoid imprisonment. He fled the country after making a deal with the government and left people at the mercy of the dictator.

Americans brought cleric to power in Iraq

The Bush Administration is trying its best to keep secularist like Musharraf in power. They argue that Pakistan's conservative Muslims ruler will be danger to the international community. But we see that in Iraq they played a major role in bringing clerics linked to Iran to power. We that the parliament and government cannot take any step without first consulting the clerics. Why are they opposing Nawaz Sharif ?

Iran is trying to persuade European governments to allow it the opportunity to prove that its nuclear programme is not designed for weapons production.

Pakistan a breeding ground for Taliban bombers, says UN

The United Nations says in a report that Taliban suicide bombers, who carried out attacks in Afghanistan, were trained and recruited in Pakistan.

The report is based on interviews with failed attackers, other militants and security officials. According to the report, militants carried out 103 suicide attacks between January and the end of August this year.

This is a biased report. The report gives the impression that Pakistan is churning out suicide bombers to destabilize Afghanistan and create problems for the occupying forces.

The UN has become a tool of big powers to threaten and bully nations. Tribal areas are not part of the Pakistan. Pakistan administers the area in accordance with agreement with the tribal people. It was Americans who exploited Pushtuns during the Afghan war and created this band of Islamic militants. It is wrong to put the whole blame on Pakistan.

Sharif pledges to return to Pakistan despite pressure

Gen Musharraf's last effort to persuade Mr. Sharif to postpone his return has failed. He used his Arab connection in a last bid to prevent Mr Sharif's potentially explosive political comeback.

Mr. Nawaz ignored the request made by Saudi Arabia's intelligence chief Prince Muqrin bin Abdul Aziz and Lebanese MP Saad Hariri. He and his bother will London today night and plan to reach Islamabad on Monday afternoon.

The planned return of the brothers, coupled with Sharif's growing popularity at home, has added to the pressure on military ruler Musharraf. He has decided to stop Nawaz at any cost, ignoring the orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan.

If Nawaz is deported, he will get public sympathy and government will face a contempt trial in the Supreme court against the violation of its ruling and the Constitution.

Let the people of Pakistan decide whether they want Nawaz or not

The Sharifs have rejected the proposal proposed by Saad Hariri. The Lebanese leader, who met the Sharifs on the request of Pervez Musharraf and asked Nawaz Sharif to delay his visit. He asked him to send Shabaz Sharif on September 10.

I fail to understand the hysteria shown by the government. They have started arresting PML- N workers, which will prove counter productive and increase the popularity of the Sharifs.

The Supreme Court of has given a decision and the government should respect it. . They should not put hurdles on Nawaz Sharf’s way.

Let the people of Pakistan decide whether they want Nawaz or not.

The nation welcomed this general with open heart but he failed to fulfill the promises he made. He allowed his supported to loot and plunder the nation’s wealth. The maladministration of Pervez Musharraf has put the nation in great crisis. Now his actions are aggravating the situation.
